What Would You Tell Yourself?

If I could go back and visit myself at age four, I would give myself a big hug and tell little Holly to remember the reason I was sent to earth.  I am not here to prove my worth, although the world teaches differently.  I am not here to be "endlessly entertained", although there are plenty of things that are entertaining that compete for my time.  I am not here to necessarily have a life of ease.  The trials and heartaches we experience build character and teach us about who we are and who we can become.  I am here to remember who I am, and use my agency to show and prove what I truly desire.  I desire to be all my Father wants me to be--for I am His daughter.  Although I can not go back to the 1970's, I can be gentle and loving with myself now and remind myself of these truths daily.  I can take the opportunity to share these principles with my own sweet little daughters as well as my sons--and help them connect with their true identity.  Ideas like these need to be reviewed -- thus we are commanded to feast on the words of Christ daily so that they will sink deep into the heart and soul-- so deep that they will affect our actions and change us into who we are meant to be.

I just found this, Holly. It is a beautiful and wise sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us. We love you! Mom Seable and Grandma Perona

I would hold that precious little girl and whisper to her that I love her and that Jesus loves her. I would tell her that she is beautiful, smart and precious. I would tell her that She is wonderful. I would hold her for a long time and stroke her pretty hair. Then I would sit down and color pictures with her for as long as she wanted me to. At night I would hold her and rock her, read some stories to her. Then I would sing to her until she drifted off to happy dreams.

At that time I would kneel down by her bed and offer up a fervent prayer to the Lord on her behalf. Lord, please keep Holly safe and free from harm. Let her know how important she is to thee. let her know that her husband is praying for her daily. Lead her in paths of righteousness, confidence and joy. Take away her sorrows and make her burdens light. Bless those around her to care of her and protect her. Help her see her self worth as established by thy unchanging love for her. Let her stand confident as she grows into young womanhood. Make her paths straight and her countenance full of light. Bless her dear parents to lead her and guide her in all things. Inspire them to hug her many times a day and tell her how much they love her. Let her be joyful in the present and in the great things to come in her life. Protect her from evil, lead her to good friends and those that will uplift and edify her in wholesome activities. I pray this prayer for you my sweet little Holly, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.
